BACKYARD OFFICE REQUIREMENTS:

Permit Restrictions

  • Planning permits and building permits usually are not needed for sheds with no electricity but check with the department

  • For details on the addition of a deck, overhang, or slab foundation (if needed), contact the department directly

Setback and Height Restrictions

  • Height Maximum: 15 feet

  • Setback Requirement:

    • Rear lot: 15 feet

    • Side lot: 5 feet

    • Front lot: No requirements


ADU REQUIREMENTS:

Zoning Restrictions

  • All single-family homes are permitted to have ADUs

  • All two-family homes are permitted to have ADUs

  • All multi-family homes are permitted to have ADUs

Setback and Height Restrictions

  • Height maximum: 16 feet

  • Setback requirements:

    • Rear lot: 4 feet

    • Side lot: 4 feet

    • Any existing structure: 5 feet

Other Restrictions

  • Short-term rentals < 30 days are not allowed
