BACKYARD OFFICE REQUIREMENTS:

Permit Restrictions

  • Planning and building departments must be advised of the building plans where they will then make a decision if a permit is required

  • The addition of a deck, overhang, and slab foundation would likely trigger a permit

  • The addition of electricity would require a electrical permit

Setback and Height Restrictions

  • Height max: ??

  • Setback Requirements ***???

    • Front property line: 40 feet

    • Side property line: 30 feet

    • Rear property line: 30 feet


ADU REQUIREMENTS:



Zoning Restrictions

  • All existing single-family homes in the R-A (Residential Agricultural) District are permitted to have ADUs

Setback and Height Restrictions

  • Setback Requirements:

    • Side lot: 4 feet

    • Rear lot: 4 feet

    • Front lot: 30 feet

    • Any existing structure: 6 feet

  • Height maximum:

    • Detached ADU: 16 feet

    • If the detached ADU has a rear and side setback of 30+ feet and an additional parking spot, the height max can be increased to 19 feet

Other Restrictions

  • Homeowners might be required to sign a document prohibiting short-term rentals < 30 days
